The Final Countdown



We are in the final stretch of preparing for Angola.  Our checked bags are packed, weighed, and ready to go (all underweight praise the Lord!).  Tonight friends and family laid their hands on the whole team and prayed over our trip and team, thank you to everyone who came out to lift up our team in prayer.

We have created a pray calendar with different ways you can lift up our team in prayer during our trip.

July 2-18- Please us this Prayer Calendar as the team heads out to serve alongside our missionary Shelia Fabiano.  The team will mainly be responsible for children's programming during SIM's Spiritual Life Conference

Thursday, July 2- Friday, July 3
We begin our two day journey covering over 10,000 miles traveling to Lubango, Angola via London, Johannesburg, and Windhoek, Namibia.  Prays for safe and uncomplicated travel; that luggage will arrive in a timely manner and that no matter what happens, we will experience the peace and presence of our Almighty God.  "Who else has held the oceans in His hand?  Who has measured off the heavens with His fingers?  God sits above the circle of earth.  He is everlasting God, the creator of all the earth" -Isaiah 40:12, 22, 28

Saturday, July 4
Late arrival in Lubango, Angola. Prayers that all our luggage and materials make it to Angola and if they don’t that we can be flexible and quick thinking to come up with a new plan. - “If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me.” - Psalm 139:9-10

Sunday, July 5
This morning we will attend Church service followed by visiting with local missionaries. Prayers for a sweet time of fellowship and spiritual refreshment. - “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy.” - Psalm 100:1-2

Monday, July 6
This morning we’ll continue to visit with missionaries before driving to Tchicombe Ranch. Prayers to be compassionate encouragers to the missionaries. - “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.” - Hebrews 10:23-24

Tuesday, July 7 through Saturday, July 11: We’ll be preparing for and engaging in VBS with the
missionary kids.

Tuesday, July 7
Natalie Kibat - Prayers that the Lord prepares our hearts as well as the hearts of all the kids coming to VBS to hear His message, and that relationships are built quickly, and we remember to focus on people over projects. “So now I put you in God’s hands. I entrust you to the message of God’s grace, a message that has the power to build you up and give you right heritage among all who are set for God’s holy purposes.” - Acts 20:32

Wednesday, July 8
Daniel Foster Fabiano - Prayers for our team to have patience and energy; that we will build
relationships with the missionaries and missionary kids; and prayers to serve well, with wisdom,
discernment and energy. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” - Romans 12:12

Thursday, July 9
Lorrie Nyland - Prayers for strength and energy, and that the Holy Spirit would give us sensitivity to the needs of the missionary families and children that we have come to serve. “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God . . . that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.” -1 Peter 4:10-11

Friday, July 10
Mary St. Germain - Prayers for a powerful and personal experience with God for each and every
person attending the conference, and for an outpouring of His Spirit. - “As you share the faith you have in common with others, I pray that you may come to have a complete knowledge of every blessing we have in Christ.” - Philemon 1:6

Saturday, July 11
Esther Mallard - Prayers to be used for the glory of God, for God’s will to be done, and for abounding energy throughout the trip. - “My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.” 1 Corinthians 2:4

Sunday, July 12
We’ll attend Church service and enjoy fellowship time. Prayers for rest and refreshment, and for a
sharing in the joy of the Lord. - “Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves.” - 1 Chronicles 16:23

Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14
Prayers that our final two days at the ranch find us enjoying new friendships, and still serving with joy and enthusiasm. - “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching one another in psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” - Colossians 3:16

Wednesday, July 15
Today we begin the long trek home, driving to Namibia for an overnight in Etosha National Park.
Prayers for safe travel and an easy border crossing; and maybe to see some of God’s amazing creatures.- “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” - Revelation 4:11

Thursday, July 16
Another long drive will bring us to the airport at Windhoek. Prayers for health and safety. “I will guide you and teach you the way you should go. I will give you good advice and watch over you with love.”- Psalm 32:8

Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18
Homeward bound! Prayers for health and safety; and for our country to return to being “one nation
under God”. - “If My people who are called by My name put away their pride and pray, and look for My face, and turn from their sinful ways, then I will hear from heaven. I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Thank you for your continual prayers and support as our team makes final preparations.  Internet access will be limited during the trip but we will update the blog as much as possible.
